Local Option Tax Charts
Local Option Sales Tax
The following Vermont towns have a 1% local option sales tax:
Burlington
Dover
Manchester
South Burlington
Stratton
Williston
The Vermont Department of Taxes administers and collects the local option tax for these towns. Retailers in these towns must have a local option account with the Vermont Department of Taxes.

Local Option Meals Tax
The following towns have a 1% local option meals tax:
Brattleboro
Dover
Manchester (eff. April 1, 2008)
South Burlington
Stratton
Stowe
Williston
The Vermont Department of Taxes administers and collects the local option tax for these towns. Retailers in these towns must have a local option account with the Vermont Department of Taxes.
For more information on local option meals tax, see Technical Bulletin 25. While the title indicates Williston local option tax, the information applies to the local option meals tax for all towns.
Local Option Rooms Tax
The following towns have a 1% local option rooms tax:
Brattleboro
Dover
South Burlington
Stratton
Stowe
