Compliance Audit Manager

If being creative to find ways to promote voluntary compliance and helping to create a level playing field in the world of taxation sounds exciting, this is the job for you! The Vermont Department of Taxes’ Compliance Division offers a stimulating opportunity for a motivated and dynamic person to work as Audit Manager to oversee three audit sections within the Compliance Division. The person selected for this newly-created position will work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Compliance, be a member of the Divisions’ management team, and largely be responsible for determining the division’s priority of work and projects. Work location for this position is in our Montpelier main office.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough and in-depth knowledge of both Federal and Vermont laws and regulations related to taxes administered by the Department, be self-motivated, collaborative, organized, curious, and open-minded.

​​This is a permanent position, full time (40 hours/week), day shift only, Monday-Friday in Montpelier. Applicants must be in good standing with tax return filings and paying taxes due.
