  • Provide telephone assistance
  • Review tax returns using the computer system
  • Refer more complex tax returns to examiners
  • Perform other related duties

Tax Examiners

  • Provide telephone assistance
  • Process tax returns using the computer system
  • Handle more complex returns as assigned
  • Perform other related duties

Data Technicians

  • Enter/verify data
  • Prepare forms and publications for scanning into our computer system for processing

How to Apply for a Temporary or a Permanent position

  1. Go to the Vermont Department of Human Resources website.
  2. Enter "tax" in the the Search by Keyword window, then click Search Jobs.
  3. Locate the position you wish to apply for in the list on the following page

Please note: Temporary positions are January to May, 2019, full time (40 hours/week), day shift only, Monday to Friday in Montpelier. Some positions may require overtime on Saturdays. Applicants must be in good standing with tax returns and paying taxes due.
