The Vermont Department of Taxes seeks an organized, customer-friendly, individual to work in our corporate and business income tax section reviewing returns and assisting taxpayers and businesses with questions via phone and email. This full-time position is responsible for assisting with processing returns, correcting return errors and answering taxpayer questions. The incumbent will be involved in the informal review and settlement of corporate and pass-through entity appeals. Work will involve tax research and generating written communications with CPA's, financial accounting representatives, and lawyers representing taxpayers of both small and large businesses. These communications may include investigating the facts and case law surrounding an assessment and developing the Department's position in collaboration with our Legal Unit.
