The Vermont Department Taxes is closed on certain State holidays.* Staff are unavailable by phone, email, or for in-person appointments. During holiday closures you may still reach us by these methods:
- Send a message to have the appropriate staff person respond after the Department reopens
- Send a message through an established myVTax account
- Schedule an appointment for a virtual, in-person, or phone meeting
Any legal holiday that falls on a Saturday is observed the preceding Friday. Any legal holiday that falls on a Sunday is observed the following Monday.
Any tax due date that falls on a holiday is automatically extended to the next business day.
