The mission of the Vermont Department of Taxes is to serve Vermonters by administering our tax laws fairly and efficiently to help taxpayers understand and comply with their state tax obligations.

Taxpayer assistance, education, review and auditing work for the Vermont Department of Taxes. This position involves interaction with taxpayers and/or taxpayer representatives regarding tax obligations and filings, business registrations and filing requirements. Incumbents in this class are expected to resolve more tax issues with a higher degree of difficulty than a Level I or II. Incumbents in this class generally deal with multiple tax types and audit programs with higher degree of complexity than lower levels. Work is performed under the supervision of an administrative supervisor.
