Seeking Approval as a Contract Appraisal Firm, Project Supervisor, Appraiser or Trainee?

Per 32 VSA § 4052, municipalities carrying out appraisals of real property for the purpose of taxation must employ a person, firm or corporation approved by the Director of Property Valuation & Review (PVR). For more information see the Administrative Rule 86-P65.

The program for certification by the Director of PVR requires completion of the following forms, depending on certification level. There is no fee for the certification, and renewal is done every 5 years, upon evidence of continued education.

Appraisal Firms Form PVR-326, Application for Addition to the List of Department-Approved Appraisal Firms
Appraisal Project Supervisor Form PVR-324, Application for Addition to the List of Department-Approved Project Supervisors
Appraiser Form PVR-325, Application for Addition to the List of Department-Approved Appraisers
Appraisal Trainee Form PVR-323, Application for Addition to the List of Department-Approved Appraisers Trainees
