Per the Rule on Required Appraisals “a list of individuals responsible for data collecting, performing appraisals and providing project supervision” must be submitted with the municipality’s Detailed Compliance Plan. The Division of Property Valuation and Review (PVR) maintains a list of all firms, project supervisors, appraisers, and appraiser trainees who have satisfactorily demonstrated their qualifications according to Rule 86-P65.

How to Apply
Per 32 VSA § 4052, municipalities carrying out appraisals of real property for the purpose of taxation must employ a person, firm, or corporation approved by the Director of Property Valuation and Review. For more information, see Administrative Rule 86-P65.
The program for certification by the Director of PVR requires completion of the following forms, depending on certification level. There is no fee for the certification and renewal is completed every five years upon evidence of continued education.
