Vermont became a member of the Streamlined Sales Tax Agreement in 2007. The purpose of the Agreement is to simplify and modernize sales and use tax administration in order to substantially reduce the burden of tax compliance.
Today 24 states have adopted the simplification measures in the Agreement (representing over 31% of the population) and more states are moving to adopt the simplification measures.
