Montpelier, May, 26, 2016 – The Vermont Department of Taxes has learned of a new phone scam targeting Vermonters where the caller pretends to be the IRS demanding immediate payment. The Attorney General’s office has had reports from close to 600 Vermonters who have received this type of call.
These calls are a scam. You should not give out any personal information or banking information to the caller.
