A Letter of Good Standing is available upon request. We issue statements that individuals are in good standing with the Vermont Department of Taxes, which means that all tax liabilities are paid or in an approved payment plan, and all required returns have been filed to date.
Requests are typically made when an individual is seeking employment with the government, obtaining a license, a license renewal, loan settlement, or performing work as a contractor.
How to Submit a Request
To request a Letter of Good Standing, please provide the following information:
- Name of the individual (First, Middle, Last)
- Social Security Number (SSN)
- Instructions of where the Letter of Good Standing is to be mailed, emailed, or faxed
You may submit your request by email, fax, or by mail. Once your request is submitted, it will be processed within 7-14 business days.
