Important Instructions for August 2024 Grand List Submissions
Thank you for your continued engagement and flexibility as we roll out the new Vermont Property Information Exchange (VTPIE) software system. Over two years into the project, we have rolled out several modules, such as the Geographic Information System (GIS) Viewer, the Sales Verification Process of the Equalization Study, and the Current Use and Homestead processing modules.
In 2025, we expect to roll out the remaining modules, including Grand List Maintenance, TIF, and Grievances. We will be hosting several trainings for municipal officials. Monitor the DA Newsletter listserv and our website for training opportunities. Check in with your CAMA vendor to ensure they are providing you with the CAMA upload into VTPIE.
Always upload your CAMA data before you do any work in VTPIE to ensure you are using the most up-to-date information.
New Functionality and Business Processes
The new Vermont Property Information Exchange (VTPIE) system is a responsive web application designed to enhance and streamline the processes for Grand List management, state education tax administration and equalization.
Once fully deployed, the new VTPIE solution will be the sole system used by municipalities for their Grand List operations.
New Features to simplify access and information management by both municipalities and the state:
- Real time, live login for each user.
- Improved reports and interfaces.
- GIS (mapping) integration.
What Isn’t Changing
- CAMA systems will remain the choice of the municipalities. Every CAMA vendor doing business in Vermont will have the technical specifications needed to integrate with the new Property Tax Management System.
- Tax collection and accounting software will remain the choice of the municipalities.
